Children and Safeguarding

The club welcomes junior players. We find we are a good fit for older juniors who would like a quieter environment to play their chess. Juniors (under 18s) receive half price membership.

We take our responsibilities for their wellbeing seriously and our safeguarding policy sets out in detail how we do that.

If you ever have a child protection concern then this online form lets you report it to our safeguarding officer – Matt Brown. Although if you believe a child is in danger please first contact the police.

We normally only take juniors who are 11 and older. We occasionally make exceptions for younger juniors (for example if an older sibling also plays) but ask that they are always accompanied by a parent / guardian.
